Today (Yesterday) in Wilmington, 01-17-09

Barack Obama came back to Wilmington on his Whistle-stop Train Tour. As the whole world knows, he started his journey in Philadelphia (GO EAGLES!), en route to Washinton, D.C., in order to retrace the steps of Abraham Lincoln. The stops on the trip included Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE, Edgewood, MD, Baltimore, MD, then comes to a hault in Washington, D.C.

With police and secret service intact, roads closed, and a prohibition of just about anything and everything on the park grounds, Obama stepped off the train, down to ground level with the people, and spoke for about 15 minutes, before boarding the train for his next stop.

Originally, I told myself (and others) that I wasn't going, but why skip out on this journey when I only live five blocks away? Last February Obama gave a speech in Rodney Square in front of approximately 20,000 people, so it was only fitting that he return to give thanks.

You're welcome.
